Sedgefield - June 2005
2 June
We head off on our annual holiday to Pine Lake Marina, Sedgefield.
3 June
We are in George to do a bit of shopping and to try and visit some friends. We came to the King George Hotel to get an internet connection. The weather is great, more later.
4 June
This morning Daniel and Dad went on a boat trip as this is what Daniel had been talking about since he learnt that we were coming to Sedgefield. Daniel enjoyed steering the baot even though it tickled his hand.
It was then off to Wild Oats Farmer's Market for brunch and some supplies. Daniel found his favourite food, strawberries, and just had to buy some. These would not last the day, of course.
We then took a drive around Sedgefield, which is experiencing huge development. One or two nice houses but generally one Tuscan look alike after another. Dinner was pizza fron Trattoria Da Vinci in Sedgefield, truly the best pizza we have had in a long time.
5 June
After brunch at Ille de Pain and a short walk we went to check out the award winning Pezula Hotel. A very tastefully decorated hotel with stunning views of Knysna.
6 June
Today was spent mainly in Oudtshoorn visiting Safari Ostritch Farm and Wilgewandel. We made it to George in the late afternoon and went to visit Tracy and John Campton who are busy preparing for the opening of their new coffee shop.
7 June
Daniel took Dad out on the pedal boat, guess who did the pedalling, in the morning. It was then off to the King George Hotel to post some more pics and enjoy some tea and hot chocolate. We then did some shopping as John, Tracy, Caleb and Logan were coming for dinner.
We took the back road over the lakes again to avoid the delays at the roadworks and stumbled upon the Milligan Rally in Wilderness.
8 June
Another boat trip in the morning before heading off to Knysna for lunch and then back for a lazy afternoon by the fire.
9 June
We spent he morning packing before heading home. We had lunch at The Heath outside Plettenburg Bay before stopping at Old Nicks where we found some nice ceramics and art. It was then straight home in the chilly weather. Another great week at Pine Lake Marina behind us.
