merSETA Solar Boat Race
We spent most of Saturday at the EP Power Boat Club, on the North End Lake, watching Daniel and some fellow pupils from Port Elizabeth TVET College taking part in the merSETA solar boat race hosted by NMU.
Each team had to build a boat from the supplied materials and then fit 2 x solar panels to drive an electric outboard motor.
5 crew piloted the craft over 3 hours to find a winner.
Great fun was had by all, even the spectators, with the PE TVET team ending up with second place after the 3 hours.
